wedding Drone Photography

Hiring a drone for your wedding day is becoming hugely popular as drones can capture breath taking shots of the most important day of your life. We can supply a drone and pilot to capture your day, as well as checking availability there are other factors to consider. Here is a quick guide to hiring a drone for your wedding day.

safety

Drones are essentially mini helicopters and safety on your wedding day is the number one priority. The Pilots are fully approved and certified by the Civil Aviation Authority in the U.K and have £1,000.000 public liability insurance. In order to fly safely The CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) has set out rules and regulations that we must adhere to. These include gaining a PFAW (Permission to Fly for Aerial Work) license and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) insurance. On top of that we have to carry out a pre-flight safety check and use a lot of safety equipment.

Venue

Part of the pre flight safety check will include ensuring the wedding venue is safe for flight. Being next door to an airport for example would make flying a drone impossible. City centres are not great locations either as extra permissions to fly will be required. If your wedding venue is located in a non-sensitive location you can expect plenty of stunning shots of your wedding day. All being well we can fly anywhere as long as we stay within eyesight, under 400ft and away from over head pylons and cables.

Weather

Like all wedding photography, Drone photography is susceptible to the Great British weather. Heavy rain would ground the drone pretty quickly. However, wind is not as much of a problem as you may think, unless it’s over 25 mph. Cold weather is also not a problem, in actual fact cold air gives the drone more lift. The drone will attend regardless of the weather and will operate as long as it is safe to do so.

Couples hire a wedding drone photographer for the amazing dynamic aerial photos and videos that will give you that unique and modern perspective that no one else will have. The contrast between the epic grandeur of these shots and footage compared with the more intimate moments is what makes your wedding so spectacular.
